Boyes Turner client

In brief

I am a senior associate solicitor in the firm’s Medical Negligence team and I specialise in claims of maximum severity. I have a broad experience of all different types of claims, but have particular expertise in the following:

  • Cerebral palsy claims
  • Birth related injury claims, including perineal tears
  • Fatal claims
  • Claims involving limb amputation(s)

In work

I have recovered millions of pounds of compensation for my clients since qualifying as a solicitor in 2008. Recent settlements include:

  • £9.7 million for a 10 year old girl with whole body cerebral palsy and severe learning difficulties.
  • £650,000 for a family following the death of a 47 year old man as a result of a hospital’s failure to diagnose pericarditis and myocarditis.
  • £200,000 for a 40 year old woman left faecally incontinent following an inappropriate repair of a third degree perineal tear sustained during the delivery of her first child
  • £182,500 for a 77 year old man following significant neurological and visual impairments suffered after a triple bypass operation.
  • £150,000 for a couple following the stillbirth of their baby.
  • £1.3 million for an 11 year old boy with mild asymmetrical dyskinetic cerebral palsy.

Industry associations

Accredited by the Law Society

I am on the Law Society’s specialist clinical negligence panel. I am also a member of Action against Medical Accidents (AvMA), the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers (APIL) and the Young Solicitor’s Group. I am the firm’s representative of the Society of Clinical Injury Lawyers (SCIL).

In the past

I completed my Law degree (LLB Hons) at the University of Sheffield and went on to complete my LPC at the College of Law in York, obtaining a distinction.

I completed my training contract at Boyes Turner, during which I spent a year gaining a valuable insight into medical negligence.

Before joining Boyes Turner in 2006, I lived and worked in Japan for a year teaching English to all ages, which was a real eye opener and a culture shock! I also spent some time travelling around South East Asia and Central and South America, where I saw some of the most beautiful scenery in the world.

In my spare time

In my spare time I enjoy socialising, trekking in the UK and abroad, visiting art galleries and going to gigs.
