Delayed diagnosis of ectopic pregnancy - £60k compensation
Boyes Turner's medical negligence lawyers recovered £60k in compensation for a 38 year old woman following a delay in diagnosis of her ectopic pregnancy.
As a result of the delay in diagnosis the woman had to be admitted to hospital as an emergency following a collapse at home. She required emergency surgery because the ectopic pregnancy had ruptured. Due to the acute admission and emergency situation the woman suffered severe psychological symptoms of PTSD which affected her ability to work for some time.
Boyes Turner’s medical negligence lawyers sent a letter of claim to the defendant hospital, which subsequently admitted liability. Boyes Turner’s medical negligence lawyers persuaded the hospital to negotiate up to the settlement figure of £60k from their initial offer of £15k. The case was funded by Legal Aid and there was no cost to our client in bringing the claim.
