Excessive oestradiol implants given to patient by two GP’s over a three year period - £52.5k compensation
Boyes Turner's medical negligence lawyers recovered £52.5k in compensation for a 62 year old woman in relation to the negligent administration of excessive oestradiol implants by two GP’s over a three year period.
As a result of the excessive administration of the implants she suffered a number of symptoms including periods of continuous vaginal bleeding and debilitating migraines. It was alleged by Boyes Turner’s lawyers that the implants ultimately resulted in the need for her to undergo a hysterectomy. She also suffered from depression.
Boyes Turner's medical negligence lawyers instructed four medical experts on the case including a GP expert, a gynaecologist, a neurologist, and a psychiatrist. The medical experts were able to link the woman’s symptoms back to the excessive administration of the oestradiol implants.
Liability was admitted by the defendants and a settlement figure of £52.5k was negotiated by Boyes Turner’s solicitors shortly before trial. The case was funded by legal aid and therefore there was no cost to our client in bringing the claim.
