£35k compensation - negligent treatment of haematoma
Boyes Turner's medical negligence lawyers recovered £35k in compensation for a 50 year old woman in relation to the negligent treatment of a haematoma which developed following the performance of a cardiac angiogram.
Her right external iliac artery became blocked and five months following the incident the ischaemic right leg had to be revascularised using open surgery and a femoro-femoral crossover graft. She has been left with ongoing problems including discomfort and reduced mobility.
Supportive expert evidence was obtained by Boyes Turner's medical negligence lawyers which confirmed that the treatment of the haematoma was negligent. It was anticipated by the medical experts that she would have to undergo replacement bypass surgery approximately every ten years.
A settlement figure of £35k in compensation was negotiated by Boyes Turner’s lawyers following the exchange of medical expert reports. There was no cost to our client in bringing the claim.
