Negligent surgery left man with perforated bowel and requiring a stoma - £185k compensation
Our client suffered a perforated bowel following a polypectomy at an NHS Treatment Centre which resulted in peritonitis and the need for a stoma for 13 months. He was unable to work for a considerable period and suffered a loss of income.
Prior to the commencement of court proceedings the hospital strenuously denied liability and invited our client not to pursue the medical negligence claim. However once proceedings were issued and served the hospital accepted responsibility for the injury and following negotiations the case was settled for £185k.
