treatment has been in the private sector the doctors will be individually insured against their mistakes as will the hospitals and other medical staff.

With the exception of the private hospitals employees, your treating doctor or medical practitioner will be the named defendent on your medical negligence claim.

While private hospitals usually deal with complaints there is no formal process and similarly no formal process for private doctors to deal with complaints.

How can our medical negligence lawyers help?

With the medical evidence and a detailed valuation of your medical negligence claim we will approach your private health professional's insurers to put the detail of your case and to ask them whether they will accept responsibility and pay you full compensation. If not, we will start formal Court Proceedings and set a date for trial.

Less than 1% of medical negligence cases we handle actually come to trial. In nearly all cases, supported by medical evidence, we are able to obtain proper compensation for the negligence you have suffered without your having to go through the stressful and uncertain process of trial.

How long will my medical negligence case take?

We are often able to achieve payment of compensation within a year. However if your case if seriously defended your negligence case will take longer. This is because we will have to use the formal Court process to put pressure on your private health professional's insurers to pay you proper compensation.

How much compensation will I receive for my medical negligence claim?

We can let you have a very good idea of the likely amount of compensation you will receive when we first talk to you. Once we have the medical evidence confirming the consequences for you, we can give you a more accurate figure on the compensation you should receive.
